The Spacious and State-of-the-Art 2021 Ford Expedition

Ford is always a reliable carmaker when it comes to powerful and rugged vehicles, and the 2021 Ford Expedition certainly falls into that category. However, this SUV also has many other redeeming qualities, including great size and the latest features.

Power and Performance

  • Engine: 3.5-liter V6 turbo
  • Power: 375 horsepower, 470 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Transmission: 10-speed automatic
  • MPG: 24 HWY

The Ford Expedition has a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. There is also another 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 in the Platinum trim that puts out 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.

No matter which engine you choose, you'll be treated to a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but four-wheel drive is available. This Ford SUV is fun to drive on asphalt, as it handles quite well. It may, however, give you more joy when you explore some of the interesting terrain around Sacramento. The FX4 Off-Road package comes with off-road shocks, skid plates, and a limited slip differential.

Interior

The 2021 Ford Expedition has a massive cabin that fits up to eight people. If you exchange the middle-row bench seat for captain's chairs, the passenger capacity drops to seven.

Standard features include a power-adjustable driver's seat, cloth upholstery, and a power-folding third row. You can also get heated and ventilated front seats and leather upholstery.

Did we mention that this new Ford has a huge interior? It offers 20.9 cubic feet behind the back row, 63.6 cubic feet when it's folded, and a total of 104.6 cubic feet with both rows down. As for tech, every model comes with:

  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
  • Four USB ports
  • An eight-inch touchscreen
  • Satellite radio
  • A Wi-Fi hot spot

If you'll frequently have kiddies in the back, you may want to also add a rear-seat entertainment system. Remote start and HD radio are a couple of other extras.

Safety

  • Pedestrian detection
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Automatic emergency braking
  •  Forward collision warning

The Ford Expedition comes with many standard safety features, such as forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking. Lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control can also be added.
