Adventurous Performance

The 2025 Ford Explorer has two different EcoBoost® engine options depending on which of the four trim levels you select. The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trim levels are all equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Those who go with the high-end ST trim level will instead receive a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that makes a whopping 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque instead.

This new Ford SUV comes standard with a ten-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, but you can also opt for all-wheel drive. The Terrain Management System introduces six distinct drive modes, including Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Trail, and available Deep Snow/Sand. When equipped with the Class III Trailer Tow Package, you'll be able to tow up to 5,000 lbs.

While driving the 2025 Ford Explorer, you'll benefit from a wide variety of technologies that keep you in full control.
