When Ford’s engineering team designed the 2017 Ford Super Duty truck, they were able to trim about 350 pounds off the previous year’s model, and the results are spectacular. Take an unprecedented look inside Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant as five truck customers tour the facility to see just how Ford was able to make the 2017 Super Duty the toughest, most capable Super Duty yet.

In addition to dropping 350 pounds, the new Super Duty features a high-grade steel frame, which is 24 times stiffer than the previous frame, and translates into more hauling and towing capability for you. Moreover, Ford improved the Super Duty’s axles, springs, and suspension, improved the brakes, and gave it an upgraded twin i-beam suspension, all of which combine to make the 2017 Ford Super Duty the most capable ever.

“As we remove weight, we’re making Super Duty more productive by giving our customers better towing and payload capability. We’re backing up improved capability with a stronger gasoline and diesel Super Duty engine lineup. The bottom line is Super Duty customers will be able to tow and haul more than ever before.” –Craig Schmatz, Super Duty chief engineer
