The highly-anticipated and heavily-camouflaged SUV prototype was recently spotted during a test drive with a few significant changes drivers are sure to love. Not only has the new Explorer been redesigned, but it is also expected to come with a variety of new features and innovations.
The most noticeable changes include a “D6” platform (coming with either front- or all-wheel drive) and a standard, fuel-efficient 2.3-liter four cylinder engine or an available 3.5-liter six-cylinder EcoBoost engine option.
Expected to debut at this year’s L.A. Auto Show, the 2019 Explorer will most likely go on sale in summer 2018.
Based on previous years' sales numbers, the next-gen Explorer is projected to be a huge hit for Ford.
