OEM vs After-Market

If you've been looking at auto parts, you've seen them described as OEM or after-market. Here's the difference between the two.

OEM is an abbreviation for "Original Equipment Manufacturer." This means the part was made by the same manufacturer who made the part for your car when it was new. It's guaranteed to fit, perform and look like the original. We keep Ford OEM parts in stock here in our service center, for a variety of vehicle models.

After-market parts are made by other companies. They may look similar in style and function, but they won't be exactly right. While this might not make a difference if you're switching out a broken side mirror, there may be some issues if you're replacing a specific, detailed engine part.
